The book of Romans is one of the most profound books in existence; it is certainly one of the most valued parts of the Holy Scriptures. It has been appropriately termed the Cathedral of the Christian faith. Its profound theology and impressive style were reasons enough for it to be assigned the first place among Pauline epistles.
We continue our journey in the book of Romans and discover that faith brings joy. We have been made right in God’s sight so now we can rejoice in good times and bad because we always have hope.
While the Jews looked upon Abraham as the great dividing point in history of mankind, to Paul Abraham through his faith became the great uniting point for all who believe, whether Jew or Gentile, circumcised or uncircumcised.
Just as sin affects every part of human life including body, heart, and mind, so God aims His redemptive activity at the total person. He isn’t merely interested in saving our souls, but also in renewing our minds, transforming our attitudes and eventually resurrecting our bodies. Just as sin affects us totally, so does salvation.
